Relationships Between Foreign Language Anxiety and Willingness to Communicate Among Japanese EFL Learners

Language learning can be stressful for learners when they are required to communicate with classmates using the target language. In such situations, high-anxious often feel frustrated compared low-anxious learners. Feelings of language anxiety may obstruct learner’s willingness (WTC). However, not many studies have elaborated straight-forward relationships between these two variables. Thus, this study seeks ascertain: 1) correlations and WTC, 2) differences WTC learners, 3) learner use four skills in English. A total 145 university students participated study. Results indicated significant negative correlation WTC. t -test scores among As a result, as well clear contrast high- learners’ were established.
